Sana’a University President Inspects the Readiness of Central Laboratory for Scientific Research and Community Service at Faculty of Agriculture

Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, Rector of Sana’a University, conducted a field visit to the Central Laboratory for Scientific Research and Community Service at the Faculty of Agriculture. He was welcomed by Dr. Adel Al-Washali, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, and Dr. Mansour Al-Dhubhani, Director of the Central Laboratory Center, along with several faculty members and administrative staff. The visit is part of the University’s ongoing efforts to strengthen research infrastructure and enhance the contribution of central laboratories to education, scientific research, and community service.
During the visit, Prof. Al-Bukhaiti reviewed the laboratory’s various sections, available technical facilities, and scientific equipment, assessing their readiness for conducting applied research and supporting researchers and postgraduate students. He also discussed the laboratory’s expected role in delivering analytical and consultancy services to respective parties both within and outside the University.
He also received a comprehensive briefing from the Committee responsible for evaluating workshops and Laboratories on the findings of the field assessment, including identified technical and technological requirements, as well as proposed plans to enhance the laboratory’s operation and effectiveness in line with the demands of contemporary scientific research and quality standards.
In his discussions with specialists, Prof. Al-Bukhaiti underscored the strategic importance of central laboratories in advancing multidisciplinary research. He emphasized the necessity of completing operational and maintenance requirements, upgrading technical staff capabilities, and establishing a clear administrative framework to ensure optimal utilization of the laboratory’s resources and to reinforce the University’s research profile and service to the local community.
Meanwhile, attending deans and directors of research centers stressed the importance of coordination among faculties and scientific centers to maximize the laboratory’s potential, unify research efforts, and direct applied studies toward addressing priority agricultural, environmental, and engineering challenges.
The visit is part of Sana’a University’s broader plan to assess and upgrade workshops, laboratories, and research facilities, improve the research environment, and strengthen collaboration among faculties and research centers, in pursuit of quality, academic excellence, and effective community service.
During the visit, the Rector was accompanied by Dr. Mohammed Qassila and Dr. Adel Rawei’, as well as Deans of the Faculties of Science and Engineering respectively, Dr. Taha Al-Washali, Director of the Water and Environment Center, and members of the University’s Committee for the Evaluation of Workshops and Laboratories.
