Sana’a University President Inaugurates the Men’s Surgery Department at Al-Kuwait University Hospital

Sana’a University Rector, Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, inaugurated today the Men’s Surgery Department at Al-Kuwait University Hospital following the completion of rehabilitation, renovation, and equipment works. The inauguration comes within the framework of the university’s ongoing efforts to develop healthcare infrastructure and enhance the quality of medical services provided to the community.
During the inauguration, the University Rector—accompanied by his Assistant for Medical Faculties and Hospitals Affairs, Dr. Abdul Hafedh Thawaba, and the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Dr. Mohammed Al-Shahari—was briefed by the Hospital Director, Dr. Abdul Latif Abu Talib, on the modern equipment and facilities completed in the department, which contribute to improving the work environment and delivering more efficient and high-quality healthcare services.
Prof. Al-Bukhaiti emphasized that developing the university’s healthcare sector is an integral part of Sana’a University’s strategy to strengthen its academic and societal role and improve the quality of health and educational services, in line with academic accreditation requirements and internationally recognized standards in university rankings.
He noted that the inauguration coinciding with the anniversary of Jumaat Rajab (Rajab Friday) reflects the humanitarian and faith-based values of Yemeni society and reinforces a culture of giving and responsible service to the community.
The University Rector praised the efforts of the leadership and staff of Al-Kuwait University Hospital, commending their commitment to institutional development and service quality improvement. He affirmed that the university will continue implementing comprehensive rehabilitation and development projects across its affiliated healthcare facilities.
In turn, the Director of Al-Kuwait University Hospital, Dr. Abdul Latif Abu Talib, reviewed the key rehabilitation and development works undertaken in various hospital departments, which have contributed to enhancing performance efficiency and improving the level of healthcare services provided to citizens.
He also confirmed that honoring exemplary employees for the year 2025 comes in recognition of their professional efforts and as an incentive for other staff members to adhere to quality standards and institutional excellence, positively reflecting on overall performance.
At the conclusion of the event, a number of outstanding employees from various departments and administrative units were honored. In addition, the Yemen Thabat Development Foundation for the Care of Martyrs’ Families honored the Rector of Sana’a University and the Director of Al-Kuwait University Hospital in appreciation of their efforts in supporting health services and strengthening community partnership.
The event was attended by the Executive Director of the Yemen Thabat Development Foundation, Abdulrahman Al-Mudhwahi, the hospital’s two deputy directors, and several department heads.
