Professor Dr. Essam Ahmed Al-Maroui, Professor of Sports Training at the Faculty of Physical Education, delivered an academic lecture to first-year students enrolled in the Track and Field (1) course, titled “Starting Techniques in Short-Distance Sprint Races.”
The lecture covered both the theoretical and practical aspects of sprint start techniques. Dr. Al-Maroui explained the different types of starts, the correct positioning on the starting blocks, the phases of the sprint start, and the importance of combining rapid reaction time with proper technical execution to achieve optimal performance in short-distance races.
The session witnessed active student engagement through discussions and questions, contributing to a deeper understanding of the fundamental concepts and technical skills of track and field while effectively linking theoretical knowledge with practical application.
