How Sports Anatomy Differs in Athletes’ Bodies Compared to Non-Athletes

As part of ongoing efforts to promote sports and health awareness, the program “Saba Sport” on Saba Satellite Channel hosted Dr. Issa Moqbel, a specialist in sports injuries and motor rehabilitation, in a distinguished episode titled: “How Sports Anatomy Differs in Athletes’ Bodies Compared to Non-Athletes”
During the interview, Dr. Moqbel highlighted the fundamental differences in both anatomical structure and physiological function between athletes and non-athletes.
He explained that consistent physical training leads to adaptive changes affecting muscles, tendons, and bone density, as well as enhancing the efficiency of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems.
He emphasized that these adaptations provide athletes with greater endurance and performance capacity, while also reducing injury rates when training programs are scientifically designed and properly balanced.
Dr. Moqbel further underscored the importance of sports anatomy in developing effective training and rehabilitation programs, noting that a precise understanding of the athlete’s body contributes significantly to injury prevention and accelerates recovery when injuries occur.
He also stressed the need to consider individual differences among athletes and warned against applying generalized training programs without proper scientific assessment.
Additionally, the discussion addressed common training mistakes that may lead to muscular imbalances, calling on coaches and athletes to adopt modern scientific principles in physical preparation and to consult specialists in motor rehabilitation.
At the conclusion of the interview, Dr. Moqbel expressed his appreciation to Saba Satellite Channel for addressing such important topics that serve athletes and Yemeni sports in general, and for linking these issues with specialized academic and scientific perspectives.
