Faculty of Engineering | SU
The Faculty of Engineering is considered one of the leading faculties at Sana'a University and in Yemen in general. It was established pursuant to Republican Decree No. 52 of 1982, which enacted the establishment of the Faculty of Engineering, subject to the provisions of Law No. 89 of 1977 and in accordance with the Law of Sana'a University. Studies began in the Department of Civil Engineering in 1982. The Department of Electrical Engineering was established in 1984. Thereafter, the Department of Architecture was established in 1986. Seven years later, the Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in1993. In 2006, specializations were introduced within the Department of Electrical Engineering, which are considered independent programs. In 2008, the Department of Basic Engineering Sciences was established. In 2012, the Department of Mechatronics Engineering was established. The Department of Biomedical Engineering was established in 2020. Finally, in 2025, the Department of Chemical Engineering was established.
