Plant Protection Students Conduct Field Visit to Yemeni Medicinal Honey Conference

SANA’A, YEMEN — July 21, 2026 — Fourth-year students from the Department of Plant Protection at the Faculty of Agriculture, Food, and Environment completed an educational field visit to the Yemeni Medicinal Honey Scientific Conference at the Recreation Club in Al-Safiyah, The Capital Secretariat (Sana’a). Accompanied by Dr. Fouad Abdullah Thabet Al-Hammadi and Teaching Assistant Mohammed Ali Rezq Al-Madani, the visit was organized as part of the Medical and Veterinary Entomology course.
Designed to bridge theoretical learning with practical applications, the visit exposed students directly to apiculture organizations and industry stakeholders. Students toured exhibition booths showcasing Yemeni honey varieties alongside other bee products, including propolis, beeswax, bee venom, royal jelly, and pollen. They learned about production standards, quality control measures, and the therapeutic applications of these natural products.
In addition to the exhibition, students attended conference sessions featuring scientific papers on apiculture research, medicinal properties of honey, and sustainable beekeeping practices. The Department of Plant Protection expressed its appreciation to the university administration and faculty leadership for supporting hands-on field training that prepares students for professional careers in the agricultural sector.
