Faculty of Education, Humanities, and Applied Sciences – Khawlan
The Faculty of Education, Humanities, and Applied Sciences – Khawlan was established in the academic year 1997/1998 as one of the branch colleges of Sana’a University, with the purpose of expanding opportunities for higher education and reducing the pressure on the faculties in the capital. Today, it offers programs in education, humanities, and applied sciences, aiming to prepare qualified graduates who serve society and contribute to development.
In line with the Yemeni government’s interest in expanding the base of higher education, Sana’a University sought to establish branch colleges in several governorates, responding to the increasing number of students enrolling in higher education. Within this framework, the Faculty of Education, Arts, and Sciences – Khawlan was founded, comprising three colleges (Education, Arts, and Sciences). It was envisioned as the nucleus of a multidisciplinary university and a complement to Sana’a University, offering education at the same academic level and in accordance with quality standards and international criteria.
