Faculty of Physical Education at Sana’a University Holds Training Workshop on First Aid Applications in Sports Injuries in Collaboration with the Yemen Red Crescent Society
Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, President of Sana’a University, the Faculty of Physical Education at Sana’a University organized a training workshop on “First Aid Applications in Sports Injuries” on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, in collaboration with the Yemen Red Crescent Society – Sana’a Capital Branch. The workshop was held in the Grand Hall of the Faculty of Physical Education, located in Al-Thawrah Sports City, north of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The workshop aimed to enhance the knowledge and practical skills of the faculty’s students and affiliates in the field of sports first aid. It focused on equipping participants with the essential techniques for providing immediate and appropriate first aid to athletes during training sessions and competitions, thereby minimizing injury complications and promoting athletes’ safety and well-being.
The Faculty Administration emphasized that organizing this workshop reflects the faculty’s commitment to strengthening both the academic and practical competencies of its students while fostering community partnerships with national institutions, particularly the Yemen Red Crescent Society. Such initiatives contribute to preparing highly qualified sports professionals with strong scientific knowledge and practical expertise in health, safety, and first aid.
At the conclusion of the workshop, Professor Dr. Abdulghani Mujahid Mutahar, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education, expressed his sincere appreciation to all participants for their active engagement and commitment throughout the training program. He commended their discipline and enthusiasm in benefiting from the workshop’s activities.
The Dean also extended his gratitude to the workshop instructor for delivering the scientific content and practical sessions with a high level of professionalism and excellence. He emphasized that training programs of this nature play a vital role in enhancing students’ professional competencies and preparing them to manage sports injuries in accordance with internationally recognized first aid principles and best practices.
The workshop witnessed strong participation from faculty members, students, and individuals interested in sports medicine and athlete safety. It included both theoretical lectures and hands-on practical sessions covering the fundamental principles of sports first aid and appropriate emergency response procedures based on contemporary professional standards.
