The Quality Council at the Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center (ADQAC) at Sana’a University held its periodic meeting this morning. The session was presided over by Prof. Huda Ali Al-Emad, Dean of the Center and Chair of the Council, with the participation of vice deans for quality affairs from various faculties and specialized research centers, alongside center members.
During the meeting, Prof. Al-Emad emphasized the critical importance of fostering coordination and integration among the university’s diverse academic units. She noted that such collaboration is vital for elevating institutional performance and raising the standard of both educational and research processes to successfully achieve academic accreditation standards.
The Council focused its deliberations on a draft proposal titled “The Interpretive Mechanism for Achieving Equity in the Distribution of Scientific Supervision Among Faculty Members.” Formulated in light of postgraduate regulations, recent amendments, and the Sana’a University Procedural Guide, the proposed mechanism aims to enhance transparency and guarantee a balanced distribution of thesis supervision workloads among academic staff.
Council members reviewed and discussed several feedback points and suggestions regarding the proposal. The clauses were refined with constructive insights intended to optimize the mechanism’s application in accordance with academic quality benchmarks.
At the conclusion of the session, the Council granted the drafting committee a four-day period to incorporate the agreed-upon modifications into the final draft, which will subsequently be submitted to the University Rector for necessary executive action.
