Obtained the Master degree in Restorative and Esthetic Dentistry with an Excellent average, from the Department of Restorative and Esthetic Dentistry, Faculty of Dentistry, Sanaa University, for his Master’s thesis entitled:
An Evaluation of Overhanging Dental Restorations’ Frequency and Localization in a Group of Yemeni People in
Sana’a City – Yemen

This master’s thesis aims at determining and evaluating the frequency of overhanging margins in restorations, by examining regularly Yemeni patients from Sanaa, collected from radiographic centers and from panoramic radiographs private dental clinic. The objective of this retrospective study is to ascertain the frequency and localization of the overhanging restorations.
The study comes out with some results, of which most overhanging restorations are observed in the mandibular molar teeth (26.5%) while the least is observed in the mandibular anterior teeth (2.2%) (P = 0.000). There are statistically significant differences between location and tooth type of overhanging restorations.
The researcher presents a number of recommendations at the end of the study, of which: The need for executing more studies on the significance of executing panorama radiographs once class II and class III are restored for avoiding any other overhanging dental restorations.
