Sana’a University Maintains Top Position Among Yemeni Universities in the Second Edition of the 2024 Webometrics Ranking of World Universities
Sana’a University has maintained its leading position among Yemeni universities in the second edition of the 2024 Webometrics ranking of world universities. The international ranking covered nearly thirty thousand (30.000) universities worldwide, including fifty-two Yemeni universities and colleges. The ranking is based on composite indicators measuring universities’ virtual presence through their websites, as well as the impact of visibility (50%), transparency (10%), and research excellence (40%).
Sana’a University topped the ranking of both public and private Yemeni universities. The University of Science and Technology-Aden secured the second position among Yemeni universities, while Taiz University ranked second among public universities and third among all Yemeni universities. Aden University secured the fourth position, followed by Dhamar University in fifth, Hadhramaut University in sixth, and Hodeidah University in seventh. Ibb University took the eighth position, while Al-Razi University ranked second among private universities and ninth overall among Yemeni universities. Queen Arwa University secured the tenth position among Yemeni universities and third among private universities.
It is worth mentioning that the Yemeni universities, which saw the addition of three new universities this year, appeared at various positions in the international ranking organized by the official Webometrics site of the Spanish National Research Council.
