Sana’a University Council Approves Several Developmental Steps in Postgraduate Studies
Today, an extraordinary council meeting for the month of Muharram-July for the academic year 1446 AH (2024/2025), under the chairmanship of the University Rector, Prof. Al-Kasem Mohammed Abass. The meeting was attended by the university vice-rectors, deans of faculties, and officials responsible for postgraduate studies in the faculties. It was dedicated to discussing the performance of postgraduate studies, exploring ways to develop and excel in them, and addressing any existing shortcomings.
The meeting covered four main areas: regulating the academic calendar for postgraduate studies, the study program and course descriptions, the teaching plan for each program, and data entry into the SAR system.
The council approved the regularity of the academic calendar (Master’s and Ph.D.) for the preparatory year with two semesters for the entire year. It also approved the initiation of using the registration application for dissertations starting next week, preceded by a short training period for specialists. The council emphasized the completion of the remaining course description process, particularly for the Master’s programs. It was also decided to set a final deadline of one week to complete the entry of postgraduate student data into the SAR electronic system.
During the meeting, the university rector emphasized the significance of postgraduate studies as a crucial source for scientific research. Consequently, the university is fully dedicated to furthering postgraduate studies and enhancing their curricula to align with the demands of the job market. The ultimate goal is to improve the efficiency and excellence of its graduates.
