Third Training Course for Website and Social Media Managers Inaugurated at Sana’a University
Under the patronage of Prof. Al-Qassem Mohammed Abass, the Rector of Sana’a University, the third training course for website and social media managers from the university’s faculties and centers was inaugurated today at the Business Administration Center. The course is held under the theme “Towards a Purposeful University Media.”
During the commencement of the three-day course, Mr. Adel Al-Hababi, the University Rector’s Advisor for Media Affairs, highlighted the significant value of training and qualification in refining the skills of media personnel managing electronic websites within the university’s faculties and centers, as well as those overseeing social media platforms related to news preparation, production, and social media management. These platforms serve as crucial channels to engage with our local community, showing the benefits of Sana’a University to our students across all regions of Yemen. Moreover, they play a vital role in communicating the university’s strengths and attributes to stakeholders involved in global university rankings. As a result, it is imperative that the knowledge imparted in this course translates into tangible improvements on the websites of the university’s faculties and centers, and their social media platforms immediately following the completion of the course.
It is worth noting that the objective of this course is to equip participants with the skills, knowledge, and techniques needed for news preparation and social media management. Participants will be introduced to the basics of news preparation and production, as well as the technical skills required to manage social media platforms, prepare posts, and effectively manage content.
The training sessions, spanning three days, will be conducted by Dr. Ali Al-Ammar, Head of the Journalism Department at the Faculty of Mass Communication, and Engineer Majid Aslan, Manager of the Information Systems Department at the Faculty of Education and the Computer Center. The course includes theoretical lectures and hands-on activities, allowing participants to actively engage, interact, and hone their skills in news drafting and post preparation for websites and social media platforms. The course is scheduled to proceed on Sunday and Monday.
