Sana’a University Trains Photographers to Use New Equipment
Sana’a, Yemen – Sana’a University’s Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences today hosted a workshop to train photographers on the use of new cameras. The equipment was generously provided under the directives of the University Rector, Prof. Al-Kasem Mohammad Abass.
This initiative aims to enhance the University’s media capabilities, allowing it to showcase its vast potential to the local community and international organizations involved in university rankings. The workshop marks a significant step forward in university-level media production, not just for Sana’a University but for Yemen as a whole.
As a first step, the University plans to record lectures in classrooms for undergraduate medical students in both the male and female classes. These recordings will be carefully produced with due consideration for Yemen’s cultural sensitivities and traditions. “By sharing these lectures online, the University aims to highlight the exceptional scientific abilities of its faculty members and reach out to international university-ranking organizations, which have been unable to visit Yemen due to the ongoing blockade,” explained Mr. Adel Al-Hababi the Rector’s Advisor for Media Affairs.
The University’s website is considered the primary platform for global evaluation and ranking. Therefore, trainees should consider the importance of preserving and utilizing the new equipment solely for academic purposes, ensuring that future students can benefit from these valuable resources.
The workshop, led by photographer Mr. Issam Al-Khamisi, focused on practical training for fourteen participants, ensuring they could effectively utilize the new equipment to film lectures and other academic content. The workshop was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences Prof. Khalid Al-Khamisi, who highlighted the initiative’s significance in promoting Sana’a University’s position in the international ranking of world universities and contributing to the University’s future development.
