The master’s student, Samah Iskandar Jaffer, obtained a Master’s degree with a grade of 94% (Excellent) in the Department of Restorative and Cosmetic Dentistry, specializing in Fixed Prosthodontics, at Sana’a University, for her thesis titled ” A Clinical Comparison Between New and Conventional Methods for Quantification of Intended and Fabricated Dental Porcelain Color” on Thursday, 4th of Safar, corresponding to 8/8/2024.
The examination committee consisted of:
- Professor Dr. Abdulwahab Al-Khoulani as the main supervisor and committee member.
- Associate Professor Dr. Mohsen Al-Hamzi as the internal examiner and committee member.
- Associate Professor Dr. Fadel Al-Sanbani as the external examiner and committee chair.
The thesis aimed to improve the accuracy and consistency of color selection in dental prosthetic restorations, leading to more natural and aesthetic results for patients. Among the results, it was observed that the use of visual color guides, especially when performed by an experienced dentist, tends to yield accurate results. The student also provided several recommendations, including combining both visual and digital methods to achieve optimal results in color matching procedures. The discussion was attended by several academics, researchers, students, interested parties, colleagues of the researcher, and members of the researcher’s family.
