Public PhD Viva-Voce Examination of Mr. Faiz Saleh Abdullah Al-Hizami, Faculty of Languages – Sana’a University
The Public Viva-Voce Examination for the PhD Dissertation hereto entitled, Al-Kawakibu Al-Durriyyatu: Sharh Al-Lulu’ati Al-Mudiyati: A Study and Investigation, submitted by Mr. Faiz Saleh Abdullah Al-HizamiDepartment of Arabic,Faculty of Languages was held on Thursday,25/02/1446Hijri, corresponding to 29/08/2024. The Viva-Voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Post-Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:

The study aimed toreveal the personality of the author, Yahya bin Al-Hussein Al-Susuwah, highlighting his scholarly status during his time.
The study concluded with a number of findings, including the author’s use of poetic language in structuring his grammatical composition in a manner similar to famous grammatical poetic compositions designed to facilitate the teaching and memorization of grammatical rules. The author’s approach was characterized by reliance on listening, analogy, reasoning, and pedagogical techniques.
The researcher made several recommendations, including paying attention to Yemeni grammatical heritage, exploring its treasures, and studying them; utilizing the researcher’s efforts in studying and examining this book to shed more light on al-Susuwah’s remarkable opinions; and benefiting from the style of grammatical poetic composition in developing methods for teaching the Arabic language.
The PhD dissertation has been examined and is recommended by the Viva-Voce Committee for acceptance and approval. The Candidate was recommended to be awarded the degree of Ph.D. majoring in Syntax and Morphology.
The viva was attended by academics, researchers, students, and other interested individuals, including the researcher’s colleagues and family members.
