Public MA Viva-Voice Examination of Ms. Tasneem Abduljabbar Abdullah Alwaili
Prof. Sa’ad Al alawi: The Public Viva-Voice Examination for the MA Thesis hereto entitled: “The Reality of Modern Counseling Techniques in Amanat Alasma- Sana’a Schools and Psychological Centers”, submitted by Ms. Tasneem Abduljabbar Abdullah Alwaili Department of Educational Psychology (Psychological Guidance), Faculty of Education –Sana’a, was held on Thursday, 25/02/1446 Hijri corresponding to 29/8/2024. The Viva-Voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Post-Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:

The study aimed at finding out a list of modern counseling techniques through investigating modern and references and sources of psychological counseling, sorting the modern counseling techniques used in schools and psychological centers; as well as, obtaining the points of views psychoeducational counselors and psychologists about the knowledge, sources, prevalence, usage and effectiveness of each modern techniques. Also, it aimed at obtaining statistically significant comparisons between both educational psychological counselors and psychologists regarding the knowledge, use and effectiveness of modern counseling techniques.
The study concluded a number of results. The techniques used in the psychological field for the two samples got the highest rate, followed by the acceptance and commitment technique and the dialectical behavioral therapy technique with a slight difference. The psychological field received a percentage of (35.9%) as the largest source of knowledge about modern technologies for individuals in the two samples. As for the prevalence of modern counseling techniques, the behavioral activation technique obtained (82.3%) among the techniques, followed by the repetition technique with a percentage of (77.3%), and the least common is the opinion technique with a percentage (50%) and x-mas are prominent (48%). It was also concluded that there were no statistically significant differences between the averages of the responses of the two study samples regarding the use of modern techniques except (patting, repeating, and prominent access), and there were no statistically significant differences between the averages of the responses of the two study samples regarding the effectiveness of techniques (binoculars, dialectical behavioral therapy.
The study provided a number of recommendations as: reconsidering (general-educational) psychology courses to include a theoretical framework for the techniques that require use in counseling and psychotherapy from the fundamental, theoretical and applied aspects, intensifying training courses for educational psychological counselors.
The MA thesis / PhD dissertation has been examined and is recommended by the Viva-Voce Committee for acceptance and approval. The Candidate was recommended to be awarded the degree of Master Degree majoring in Psychology (Psychological Guidance) with an overall grade of Excellent (95%).
