The researcher / Ibtisam Ali Abdullah Makrad Al-Salwi obtained a PhD in the Department of (Information Technology) specializing in (Information Technology) College of (Computer and Information Technology) at Sana’a University for her thesis entitled (A secure cloud computing model for electronic health records using blockchain) today, Monday, Hijri date 13-Rabi’ Al-Awwal – 1446 AH corresponding to 9/16/2024 AD. The discussion and arbitration committee consisted of Associate Professor (Anwar Saif Abdul Hamid Al-Shamiri) as a main supervisor and member of the committee, Associate Professor (Adnan Yahya Ahmed Al-Mutawakkil) as an internal examiner and member of the committee, and Professor Dr. (Khalil Saeed Muhammad Al-Wajeeh) as an external examiner and head of the committee. The thesis aimed to build and implement a secure cloud computing model to protect electronic health records using a proposed hybrid encryption algorithm and blockchain technology. The thesis reached a number of results, including the efficiency of the proposed algorithm’s performance, as it outperformed previous studies in the speed of encrypting, decrypting, and sharing the electronic health record at a lower communication cost. The doctoral researcher presented a number of recommendations in her thesis, including comprehensive training for healthcare professionals and patients on using the proposed model to achieve maximum benefit from it and ensure the proper use of electronic health records. The discussion was attended by a number of academics, researchers, students, interested parties, and a number of the researcher’s colleagues and family members.
