Sana’a, November 5, 2024
Under the patronage of Prof. Al-Kasem Mohammed Abass, Sana’a University Rector, the second workshop on electronic websites and social media pages for the university’s faculties and centers was held today. During the workshop, Mr. Adel Al-Hababi, the Rector’s Advisor for Media Affairs, emphasized the importance of respecting timeliness in reporting news from the university’s faculties and research centers and promptly uploading it to their respective websites and social media pages. He also stressed the importance of ensuring that the news report fulfills all the essential elements of a news story.
The workshop, held at the Business Administration Center in the Faculty of Commerce, was attended by the administrators of the University’s websites and social media pages. Mr. Al-Hababi highlighted the need for complete data on the University’s websites, which serve as the primary point of contact for people both inside and outside the University. These data are also the source of information used by international ranking bodies to assess the University’s position among universities globally. He stressed that the University’s unique strengths and resources set it apart from other Yemeni universities, positioning it as a leader among both public and private institutions.
During the workshop, progress reports on electronic websites and the percentage of uploaded information related to undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs, academic affairs, student affairs, quality assurance, exams, scientific journals, and news were reviewed.
A semi-annual report on the progress made on the electronic websites and social media pages of the faculties and centers was also distributed. This report details the information and news uploaded to these platforms up to the current date.
The workshop concluded with discussions on key obstacles and the formulation of proposals to address them.
