Recommendations of the 1st International Conference on Emerging Technologies for Dependable Internet of Things (ICETI 2024)
The participants emphasized the necessity of developing innovative solutions using artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things (IoT) in vital sectors such as health, agriculture, education, and energy. They highlighted the importance of enhancing research and development in these technologies by encouraging partnerships among researchers to create comprehensive and sustainable solutions.
The recommendations included supporting research related to cybersecurity and blockchain technologies to address threats and ensure the reliability of the IoT systems. Strengthening local and international collaborations with universities and research centers was encouraged to facilitate knowledge exchange and translate research into practical market applications.
The participants also stressed the importance of planning for future conferences and expanding topics to include new issues, publishing scientific papers in reputable databases, and raising awareness about the risks associated with the IoT through workshops. Participants urged relevant authorities to allocate budgets for research and development and to improve infrastructure for next-generation technologies such as “5G” and “6G.”
The participants called for fostering innovation in embedded system design and establishing reliable device management with multi-factor authentication. In addition, they urged the enhancement of the infrastructure of the Faculty of Computer Science and the adoption of artificial intelligence in cybersecurity.
Moreover, participants proposed the creation of business incubators to support new projects, updating educational curricula to incorporate the IoT concepts, and launching training programs to develop national expertise.
The top five scientific papers were selected for free publication in the Applied Sciences Journal at Sana’a University. The Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science praised the committees’ and participants’ efforts in making the conference successful, which hosted 331 researchers and academics from 28 countries discussing 81 papers across various fields.
The conference concluded with the presence of the Executive Director of the Information Technology Center, Dr. Fouad Hassan Abdulrazak; Secretary-General of the Academic Accreditation Council, Dr. Mohammed Dhaifallah; Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Conference President, Dr. Ahmed Al-Shalabi; the University Rector’s Advisor for Media Affairs, Mr. Adel Al-Hababi; Head of the Conference Scientific Committee, Dr. Sharaf Al-Humdi; Head of the Organizational Committee, Dr. Mansour Noaman; Head of the Financial Committee, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sabri; and Head of the Technical Committee, Dr. Mousa Ghrab. They all honored the sponsoring companies and the heads and members of the subcommittees.
Furthermore, the accompanying event, the 1st Technical Exhibition of Sana’a, is set to conclude tomorrow. The exhibition will host the final round of a rapid programming competition with 400 students in 124 teams across six technical fields. Besides, two technical seminars will address the role of cloud computing in digital transformation and the partnership of global cloud service companies.
