Public MA Viva-Voce Examination of Ms. Fatima Naji Mohammad Ahmed Al-Raqim, from the Department of Islamic Studies, Faculty of Arts & Humanities – Sana’a University
Ms. Fatima Naji Mohammad Ahmed Al-Raqim has been awarded her MA degree with a commendable score of 95, achieving an excellent distinction in the Department of Islamic Studies at Sana’a University. This accomplishment was defensed on Thursday, the 2nd of Rajab, 1446 Hijri, corresponding to January 2, 2025, on the topic titled “The Concept of Difference in the Holy Quran and Its Impact on Society.”
The Viva-Voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Post-Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:
1. Prof. Hassan Nasser Sarar, External Examiner, Hajjah University, Chair.
2. Dr. Saeed Ali Mohammad Al-Hamri, Main Supervisor, Sana’a University, Member.
3. Dr. Hassan Ali Al-Saruri, Internal Examiner, Sana’a University, Member.
The primary objective of the thesis was to elucidate the concepts and meanings associated with difference as presented in the Holy Quran, providing an explanatory and objective analysis of its implications for both individuals and society.
The research yielded several significant findings, notably that a comprehensive understanding of the concept of difference fosters deeper empathy towards those with differing views. This understanding aids in recognizing the foundations of their thoughts and ideas, ultimately mitigating conflict and disputes.
In her conclusions, the researcher proposed several recommendations, emphasizing that future studies on the subject of difference should highlight its positive aspects while steering clear of any form of intolerant attitudes that may lead to negativity or division.
The Viva-Voce was attended by several academics, researchers, students, and several colleagues and family members of the researcher.
