Obtained the Master degree in Restorative and Esthetic Dentistry with an Excellent average of 91%, from the Department of Conservative and Esthetic Dentistry, Faculty of Dentistry, Sanaa University, for his Master’s thesis entitled:
The Efficiency of CBCT X-Ray in Detecting Caries Under Cemented and Uncemented Dental Fixed Prosthesis
The discussing committee consisted of:
♦ Professor Dr. Ibrahim Zaid AL-SHAMI, Principle Supervisor Committee Member,
♦ Professor Dr. Mohsen AL-HAMZI, Internal Examiner Head of Committee, and
♦ Associate Professor Fadhel Ali AL-SANABANI, External Examiner Committee Member.
This master’s thesis aims at determining the ability of CBCT according to given criteria to detect caries under cemented and non-cemented dental fixed prosthesis.
The study comes out with some results, of which it is of great utility to use CBCT X-Ray in detecting caries after cementation and in identifying caries development or progression in dental patients undergoing fixed prosthodontic treatments.
The researcher presents a number of recommendations at the end of the study, of which: It is recommended to use the CBCT X-Ray as a modern technique for detecting caries under cemented and non-cemented dental fixed prosthesis; and even for diagnosing secondary caries in patients undergoing fixed prosthodontic treatments.
Attendees of the viva session were a number of academics, researchers, interested students of the major, as well as the researcher’s colleagues and some of family members.
