Public PhD Viva-Voce Examination of Ms. Sumaya Aljafari
The Public Viva-Voce Examination for the PhD Dissertation hereto entitled, Symmetry in the Holy Quran “Stylistic study”, submitted by Ms. Sumaya Taha Ali Abdullah Aljafari, Department of Arabic, Faculty of Languages, was held on Saturday, 16/07/1446 Hijri corresponding to 16/01/2025. The Viva-Voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Post-Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:

The study aimed to reveal the places of symmetry in the Holy Qur’an, and to indicate the stylistic and rhetorical miracles that characterized it, and the extent of coherence and coherence in its rhetorical forms, by investigating the positions of the corresponding verses in the Holy Qur’an and studying them stylistically.
The study concluded with a number of findings, including:
1. The Qur’anic structure of the symmetrical sentences contained a special pattern in its style, systems, and connotations, so it came sometimes for praise and other slander, and sometimes for vilification, warning and warning, or for report and confirmation, or allocation and others, so it was that he added to the meaning and significance of what supports and strengthens it.
2. The repetition of sounds in symmetrical positions indicated the repetition of the event, so the meaning emerged through the sound in a complete integrated harmony with the context in which it was received, and had a major role in highlighting the meaning and strengthening it in sound, significance and eloquence.
The researcher made several recommendations, including
– Calling for deepening studies related to the system of building the Holy Qur’an, which are related to the manifestations of its miracles, and the aesthetics of its arts, and the richness of its images and connotations.
– Enriching studies related to symmetry in the Holy Qur’an, and addressing them from multiple angles, which contribute tostatement the scientific, linguistic and connotations value of the Holy Qur’an.
– Conducting more studies related to stylistic phenomena in the Holy Qur’an,and linking them to their counterparts in different contexts, and explaining the differences and connotations they included.
– Inclusion of Quranic studies in the scientific studies of universities and research centers, and opening the way for other research and studies related to the stylistic and analytical approach in the Holy Qur’an.
The PhD dissertation has been examined and is recommended by the Viva-Voce Committee for acceptance and approval. The Candidate was recommended to be awarded the degree of PhD majoring in Rhetoric and Criticism
The viva was attended by academics, researchers, students, and other interested individuals, including the researcher’s colleagues and family members.
