Public MSc Viva-Voce Examination of Mr. Anwar Ali Saleh Idris

The Public Viva-Voce Examination for the MSc Dissertation entitled, “Prevalence of Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli O157 Among Urinary Tract Infection Patients in Sana’a City, Yemen”, submitted by Mr. Anwar Ali Saleh Idris, Department of Biology, Faculty of Science, was held on Tuesday 30/06/1446 Hijri corresponding to 31/12/2024. The Viva-Voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Post-Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:

The study aimed to :

determine the prevalence of entrohemorrhagic Escherichia coli O157 among urinary tract infection patients in Sana’a City, Yemen.

The study reached a number of results including the prevalence rate of 2.1%.

The study came out with a number of recommendations, including :

The study recommends conducting future research to determine the prevalence of the bacteria in different sources.
Future studies should include sources other than the urinary tract, such as food, water, the digestive system, and animals.
Future studies should employ modern diagnostic methods.

Academic members, researchers, students, interested parties and the researcher’s colleagues and family members attended the viva.

The dissertation was examined and recommended by the Viva-Voce Committee for acceptance and approval. Then, the Student was recommended to be awarded the degree of Master of Science majoring in Microbiology with an overall grade of Excellent equivalent to 93%.
