Researcher Amal Faisal Al-Houthi has obtained a master’s degree with honors in Radio and Television.

Her thesis, titled “The News Treatment of Palestinian Issues in Satellite Channels and the Formation of Knowledge and Attitudes of the Yemeni Public towards them… A Survey Study of Content and Audience”, was discussed on Monday, December 30, 2024.

The discussion committee consisted of Dr. Mohammed Abdul Wahab Al-Faqih Kafi as chairman and member, Dr. Ahmed Muthar Ukubat as internal examiner and chairman, and Dr. Hassan Yahya Dajrah as external examiner and member.

The study aimed to investigate the news treatment of Palestinian issues by satellite channels (Yemen Satellite Channel, Al-Mayadeen, Al-Jazeera, and Al-Arabiya) and its relationship to the formation of knowledge and attitudes of the Yemeni public towards these issues.

The study applied to a sample of 445 individuals from the Yemeni public and reached several conclusions, including that the Yemeni public was more receptive to the news framework presented by Al-Mayadeen and Yemen channels, as they were balanced in conveying the suffering and steadfastness of the Palestinian people.

The researcher presented several recommendations, including the application of news frame theory to internal issues and the use of qualitative methods to measure public knowledge and attitudes towards issues raised within the framework of news frame analysis.

Several academics, researchers, graduate students, and colleagues attended the discussion.
