“PhD for Researcher Hassan Mohammed Al-Ajja in Private Law from the Faculty of Sharia and Law”

Researcher Hassan Mohammed Yahya Al-Ajja obtained a PhD degree in Private Law from the Faculty of Sharia and Law at Sana’a University for his dissertation titled: “Consumer Protection in the Yemeni Law: A Comparative Study with the French, Algerian, and Egyptian Laws,” on Thursday, 28 Sha’ban 1446 AH, corresponding to February 27, 2025 AD.
The panel of the discussion and judgment committee consisted of:
* Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed bin Hussein Al-Shami, External Examiner – Chairman.
* Assistant Professor Dr. Ma’moun bin Ahmed Al-Shami, Internal Examiner – Member.
* Assistant Professor Dr. Abdullah Ali Hassan Al-Khiyari, Main Supervisor – Member.
The study aimed to determine the extent to which the texts of the general and special rules for consumer protection are appropriate.
The study concluded with a set of results and findings, the most important of which is that there is a legislative deficiency in the Yemeni Consumer Protection Law and its executive regulations. The study recommended that that the Yemeni legislator should expand the scope of legal protection by adding and amending some necessary legislative texts in the current Consumer Protection Law.
The viva was attended by a number of academics, researchers, students, interested parties, and a number of the student’s colleagues and family members.
