Master’s Degree Awarded to Researcher Youssef Sultan from the Department of Educational Administration and Planning, Faculty of Education

Researcher Youssef Qaed Naji Sultan was awarded a Master’s degree with honors with a 95% grade from the Department of Educational Administration and Planning at the Faculty of Education, Sana’a University. The thesis was titled “The Relationship Between Organizational Power and Knowledge Management Strategies Among Educational District Directors in the Capital Secretariat of Sana’a”. The Viva defence took place on Tuesday, September 11, 1446 AH, corresponding to March 11, 2025 AD.
The examination and judgment committee consisted of:
- Professor Dr. Abdul Jabbar Al-Tayeb Amin – Internal Examiner, Sana’a University (Chairman).

Associate Professor Abdul Aziz Abdulhadi Al-Amri – External Examiner, Hajjah University (Member).

Assistant Professor Dr. Abdul Khaliq Mohammed Al-Duais – Co-Supervisor, Sana’a University (Member).
The thesis Objectives were:
* To reveal the relationship between organizational power and knowledge management strategies among educational district directors in the Capital Secretariat of Sana’a from the perspectives of administrative staff.
* To determine the level of organizational power and the level of practice of knowledge management strategies.
* To determine whether there are statistically significant differences at a significance level of (0.05) between the average responses of the sample members regarding the level of each, attributed to variables (gender, job title, educational qualification, and years of experience in education).
Key Research Findings:
* There is a strong, statistically significant, positive correlation between organizational power and knowledge management strategies among educational district directors in the Capital Secretariat of Sana’a.
* There is a statistically significant positive correlation between the areas of organizational power (position, personality, experience, reward, threat of punishment, information) and knowledge management strategies (codification, personalization).
* The level of organizational power was found to be moderate, with variations in its areas.
Key Research Recommendations:
* Strengthening the reward system by linking it to the achievement of goals and ensuring transparency of standards, while updating the technical infrastructure to support information flow and training staff in its management.
* Exchanging experiences through workshops and collaborative mechanisms, and achieve a balance between incentive and punitive policies to enhance performance.
* Enhancing the role of directors by developing their leadership skills, and integrating personalization and codification strategies to improve the work environment and ensure institutional sustainability.
The Viva discussion was attended by a number of academics, researchers, interested individuals, and colleagues and family of the researcher.
