Sana’a University has secured first place nationally in the SCImago Ranking for 2025 while also advancing from rank 239 to 237 at the Arab level.
On this occasion, Prof. Al-Kasem Abbas, Rector of Sana’a University, congratulated the university on its continued excellence in global rankings. He highlighted its recent achievements in both the SCImago and Webometrics rankings, along with its top national ranking in the ScholarGPS 2024 classification, which recently published a list of the top researchers across various fields over the past five years.
Moreover, he celebrated the university’s latest milestone—full national institutional accreditation for 10 faculties, with two earning the Diamond-Level Institutional accreditation and eight receiving the Gold-Level Institutional accreditation. Furthermore, four faculties with single-degree programs obtained full programmatic Gold-Level accreditation.

Reaffirming the university’s commitment to academic excellence, Prof. Al-Kasem Abbas stated that Sana’a University possesses the expertise and faculty capabilities to achieve even higher global rankings. He stressed the university’s ongoing efforts to further strengthen and improve its position across all rankings it participates in.
He attributed this notable progress to recent institutional reforms and developments, the adoption of advanced educational and academic practices, and a strong emphasis on supporting scientific research.
