Doctorate for Researcher Khaled Abdullah Mohammed From the Center of Business Administration

Researcher Khaled Abdullah Mohammed Al-Assad earned a PhD in Philosophy of Business Administratio from the Center of Business Administration for Graduate Studies (CBA), Sana’a University, for his dissertation entitled “The Impact of Strategic Management on Organizational Effectiveness Through Total Quality Management Principles; A Field Study of Yemeni Commercial Banks Operating in the Capital Secretariat, Sana’a”.
The Viva defence took place on Wednesday, 13/8/1446 AH, corresponding to 12/2/2025 AD.
The Viva and judgment committee consisted of the following professors:
* Professor Dr. Sinan Ghaleb Al-Merhadhi, Internal Examiner, Sana’a University.
* Professor Dr. Abdo Ahmed Al-Amiri, External Examiner, University of Science and Technology.
* Assistant Professor Dr. Fadl Mohammed Al-Mahmoudi, Supervisor, Sana’a University.
The study aimed to determine the impact of strategic management in its dimensions (environmental analysis, strategy formulation, strategy implementation, control, and evaluation) on organizational effectiveness through total quality management in its dimensions (customer focus, continuous improvement, employee participation, top management support and commitment, process focus) among the Yemeni commercial banks operating in the Capital Secretariat, Sana’a.
The study reveals a set of results, the most important of which are:
* There is a statistically significant effect of strategic management in its dimensions (environmental analysis, strategy implementation, control, and evaluation) on the effectiveness of Yemeni commercial banks operating in the Capital Secretariat, Sana’a.
* There is no statistically significant effect of the strategy formulation dimension on the effectiveness of Yemeni commercial banks operating in the Capital Secretariat, Sana’a.
* There is a statistically significant effect of strategic management in its dimensions (environmental analysis, strategy implementation, control, and evaluation) on the total quality management of Yemeni commercial banks operating in the Capital Secretariat, Sana’a.
* There is no statistically significant effect of the strategy formulation dimension on the total quality management of Yemeni commercial banks operating in the Capital Secretariat, Sana’a.
* There is a statistically significant effect of total quality management in its dimensions (customer focus, continuous improvement, top management support and commitment, process focus) on the effectiveness of Yemeni commercial banks operating in the Capital Secretariat, Sana’a.
* There is no statistically significant effect of the employee participation dimension on the effectiveness of Yemeni commercial banks operating in the Capital Secretariat, Sana’a.
* There is a statistically significant effect of Strategic Management on the Effectiveness of the Yemeni commercial banks that are operating in the capital secretariat Sana’a, through total quality management.
* There is a mediating role of total quality management in its dimensions (top management support and commitment, customer focus, continuous improvement, process focus) in the relationship between strategic management and the effectiveness of Yemeni commercial banks operating in the Capital Secretariat, Sana’a.
* There is no mediating role for employee participation on the relationship between strategic management and the effectiveness of commercial banks operating in the Capital Secretariat, Sana’a.
The study concludes with a set of recommendations, the most important of which are:
* The importance of business organizations developing a balanced strategic plan that accommodates their material and human capabilities.
* The importance of business organizations enhancing employee participation in decision-making and instilling a spirit of self-participation and teamwork, as employees are considered the most important assets of the organization and its backbone, and encouraging them to actively participate in various bank activities, taking their opinions seriously, and enhancing the spirit of cooperation, which ultimately leads to the creation of innovative solutions to all the challenges they face, accompanied by the provision of distinguished services.
* The importance of the participation of senior administrative leaders in business organizations, especially banks, in supporting quality initiatives, with clear commitment and support towards the principles of total quality management to motivate employees and adopt the achievement of those principles.
