The thesis aimed to determine the impact of capacity building programs provided by the international organizations on the performance of civil society organizations in Yemen.
The study results showed that employees of civil society organizations who receive on-the-job and off-the-job training contributed significantly to the development of their performance, which in turn contributed to the development of the performance of civil society organizations.
The researcher suggested several recommendations, most notably the necessity of utilizing both on-the-job and off-the-job training, as they play a role in enhancing the performance of NGO employees, which can lead to an improvement in the overall performance of the NGO. Focusing on needs assessment to design better capacity building programs by donors, NGOs should focus on providing a learning space within the organization where employees should share what they have learned from on-the-job and off-the-job training with their colleagues in order to ensure good organizational learning that cannot be affected by employee departures.
The discussion was attended by a number of academics, researchers, students, and interested individuals, as well as several of the researcher’s colleagues and family members.
