Public MA Viva-Voice Examination of Ms. Asma Abduljabbar Ali Asa’ad

The Public Viva-Voice Examination for the MA Thesis hereto entitled: ” Nafayis Aljawahir Alhesaan Albahiah fi Bayan ‘Asrar Maeani Alayat Alquraniah By the Scholar Al-Hasan Bin Ibrahim Bin Hassan Al-Khatib Alzabeedi Alyemeni, who died in the year 1265 AH) for the Surahs of Ad-Dukhan, Al-Jathiyah, and Al-Ahqaf: A study and an Investigation)”. submitted by Ms. Asma Abduljabbar Ali Asa’ad Department of Holy Quran and Its Sciences, Faculty of Education –Sana’a, Sana’a University, was held on Wednesday, 19/09/1446 Hijri corresponding to 19/03/2025. The Viva-Voice Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Post-Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:

The study aimed at introducing
- Clarifying the author’s methodology and most important sources.
- Investigating the manuscript of Surat Ad-Dukhan, Surat Al-Jathiyah, and Surat Al-Ahqaf.
- Studying it using a modern methodology based on the correct scientific rules and foundations followed in the scientific investigation of manuscripts.
- And stating the author’s opinions in his interpretation and discussing them as required.
The study concluded a set of findings as: the book Nafayis Aljawahir is considered as one of the most important books of interpretation, as its author combined interpretation based on the transmitted hadiths and interpretation based on the commendable opinion. The author of the book was one of the established and pious scholars who studied jurisprudence at the hands of a group of scholars from Yemen and was skilled in all the arts. The author’s abundant knowledge was evident in the abundance of evidence and the use of Qur’anic verses, citing them in their suitable places.
The study recommended a lot of recommendations: Searching and excavating manuscripts of our Yemeni Islamic heritage in all fields of science, encouraging researchers and scholars to recognize the importance of studying the hidden treasures and scientific pearls of Yemen that have not been investigated in the fields of Quranic sciences in general and interpretation in particular, creating practical and scientific paths and projects to unify efforts and capabilities and enhance cooperation between various official and non-official bodies concerned with preserving our Yemeni scientific and cultural heritage.
A number of academics, the department head, some researchers, students, interested people, and a number of the candidates’ colleagues and family members attended the viva.
The MA Thesis has been examined and is recommended by the Viva-Voice Committee for acceptance and approval. The candidate was recommended to be awarded the degree of Master in Holy Quran and Its Sciences majoring in Interpretation (Tafsir),with an overall grade of Excellent 95%.
