PhD Awarded to Mr. Akram Mohammed Yahya -Center of Business Administration

Mr. Akram Mohammed Yahya Al-Arashani was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Business Administration from the Center of Business Administration (CBA) – Sana’a University for his dissertation titled: “The Impact of Decision-Making on Crisis Management through Artificial Intelligence: A Proposed Model for Improving Crisis Management in Private Banks in Yemen.”
The defense was held on Tuesday, 3/5/1446 Hijri, corresponding to November 5, 2024.
The PhD viva-voce committee comprised the following members:
- Prof. Sinan Ghaleb Al-Marhadhi: Internal Examiner, Sana’a University.
- Assoc. Prof. Ali Hussein Al-Ashwal: External Examiner, University of Science and Technology.
- Prof. Abdulkarim Qasem Al-Sayaghi: Supervisor, Sana’a University.
This dissertation aimed to identify the impact of decision-making (quality, effectiveness, acceptance) on crisis management (signal detection, preparation/prevention, containment/damage limitation, 1 business recovery, learning) through artificial intelligence (users, systems, devices) in private banks operating in Yemen.
This dissertation concluded with several key findings, most notably: a positive impact of decision-making on crisis management in private banks in Yemen; a positive impact of decision-making on artificial intelligence in private banks in Yemen; and a positive impact of artificial intelligence on crisis management in private banks in Yemen. The quantitative model developed demonstrated a very good fit, indicating an indirect relationship between decision-making and crisis management through the partial mediation of artificial intelligence.
The dissertation suggested several recommendations, including the importance of focusing on decision-making through its dimensions (quality, effectiveness, acceptance), with particular attention to decision quality. In addition, it emphasized the significance of artificial intelligence due to its prominent role in the future and its impact on the development and excellence of banks, as well as its influence on all administrative processes and functions, especially in light of the multiple and diverse crises facing banks amidst the instability of the Yemeni environment.
The defense was attended by a number of academics, researchers, interested individuals, the candidate’s colleagues, and family members.
