University Council Extends Appreciation to Former Rector and Approves Tuition Fee Collection Mechanism

During its tenth regular meeting for the academic year 2024/2025 (1446 AH), Sana’a University Council, chaired by University Rector Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukaiti, extended its sincere gratitude and appreciation to the former University Rector, Prof. Al-Kasem Mohammed Abbas. The council’s commendation, on behalf of the entire university community, recognized his dedicated efforts, diligent work, and the significant achievements realized under his leadership, which contributed to the stability and advancement of the educational process at Sana’a University during his tenure.
The Council, convened at the university’s presidency with the attendance of the vice-rectors, Rector’s assistants, and faculty deans, also approved a mechanism for collecting tuition fees for undergraduate (Bachelor’s degree) programs. Students wishing to pay their fees in installments will be able to arrange a schedule through the University Rector’s office. The collection of tuition fees will be overseen by the respective faculties, the Electronic Testing Center (ETC), or authorized representatives of the University Rector. Students will make payments electronically through designated entities and will receive a receipt for their payment.
The approved mechanism stipulates that students must pay a minimum of 50% of their total tuition fees before the first semester examinations, with the remaining balance due before the second semester examinations.
In other decisions, the Council approved the organizational structure of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and endorsed the Master’s program in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the Business Administration Center, Faculty of Commerce and Economics.
Furthermore, the Council approved the review and development process for Master’s programs in the Faculty of Agriculture, encompassing the following programs: Crops and Genetic Improvement, Animal Production, Soil, Water, and Environment, Horticultural Science and Technology, Agricultural Engineering and Technologies, Food Science and Nutrition, and Agricultural Economics.
During the session, the Council approved the awarding of doctoral and master’s degrees to 28 graduate students across various disciplines.
The Council also endorsed the lists of graduates from the Faculty of Physical Education, the Faculty of Commerce and Economics, the Faculty of Education, the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, the Faculty of Human and Applied Sciences – Khawlan, the Faculty of Languages, the Faculty of Computer and Information Technology, and the Faculty of Agriculture, Food, and Environment.
Moreover, the Council discussed several topics related to academic affairs, graduate studies, and student affairs, and made appropriate decisions regarding them.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Council reviewed and approved the minutes of its previous session.
