Sana’a University Launches Competitive Entrance Tests for General Medicine and Surgery Programs

Sana’a University officially launched its highly competitive entrance tests today for prospective students seeking admission to its Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, specifically in the General Medicine and Surgery program, for the upcoming academic year 1447 AH / 2025–2026.
During the inauguration, the University Rector, Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, emphasized that the entrance exam procedures are designed to ensure the highest levels of fairness, transparency, and assessment accuracy, aligning with the university’s standards for quality student intake to ultimately support excellence in healthcare sector outcomes.
The University Rector stated that a total of 3,075 applicants (male and female) are vying for 150 seats in the General Medicine and Surgery program, reflecting the faculty’s total capacity under the general admission system. The entrance tests were administered across four sessions.
Prof. Al-Bukhaiti highlighted that the exams took place at the University’s Electronic Testing Center (ETC), a central automated facility equipped with more than 1,500 seats and computers. He underscored the significance of ETC as a key achievement for Sana’a University in recent times.
He also confirmed that automated grading and exam control procedures are being carried out according to a pre-established plan, with preliminary results expected to be announced tonight via the official university website: https://su.edu.ye/.
Furthermore, the University Rector encouraged students who may not secure admission to the medical program to explore other available disciplines across the university’s faculties and academic centers.
The inauguration was attended by the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Prof. Mohammed Shukri; the Rector’s Assistant for Media Affairs, Mr. Adel Al-Hababi; Director of the Electronic Testing Center, Dr. Abdullah Al-Haddad; and University Registrar, Mr. Ahmed Al-Shamiri.
