Doctorate Awarded to Researcher Moamar Farhan from the Inclusive Development Research Center, IDRC

Researcher Moamar Farhan Mohammed Ali Shamsaddin has been awarded a Ph.D. in International Development Studies from the Inclusive Development Research Center, at Sana’a University, for his dissertation titled “The Role of Human Resource Empowerment Strategy in Achieving Development Through Banking Performance in Yemeni Islamic Banks.”
The Viva voce took place on Saturday, April 26, 2025.
The Viva committee consisted of:
* Prof. Saleh Mohammed Humaid, internal examiner and committee chairperson.
* Prof. Amal Mohammed Almujahed, main supervisor and member.
* Assoc. Prof. Nabil Mohammed Al-Olofi, external examiner and member.
The study aimed to identify the role of the human resource empowerment strategy in achieving development through banking performance in the Yemeni Islamic banks.
The study revealed several findings, the most important of which are: the existence of a positive role for the human resource empowerment strategy in the Yemeni Islamic banks in achieving development, in addition to the existence of a role for banking performance in achieving development, and that banking performance represents a complementary mediator between the human resource empowerment strategy and development. This clearly indicates a positive role for the human resource empowerment strategy in achieving development through banking performance in the Yemeni Islamic banks.
The study suggested several recommendations, most notably: enhancing the application of the human resource empowerment strategy in banks to improve their performance in order to achieve development goals.
The Viva voce was attended by a number of academics, researchers, students, and interested individuals, as well as a number of the researcher’s colleagues and family members.
