The Viva took place on Saturday, Dhu al-Qa’adah 5, 1446 AH, corresponding to May 3, 2025 AD.
The Vive voce committee consisted of:
* Professor Abdo Mohammed Yousef – Internal examiner and committee chairman.
* Professor Refa’at Hussein Aborah- Supervisor and Committee Member.
* Associate Professor Ahmed Ali Ahmed Ya’aqoub- External examiner and Committee Member.
The thesis aimed to: introduce the author, scholar Hassan bin Ibrahim alkhatib alzubaidi, his era, and his book: “Nafa’is aljawaher alhessan albahiyya fi Bayan Ma’ani Asrar ala’ayat alqura’aniyya” by means of studying the manuscript, outlining the author’s methodology and the most important sources for verifying the manuscript from the beginning of Surat Annajm to the end of Surat Arrahman, using an accredited methodology based on the right rules and foundations used in the scholarly verification of manuscripts.
The thesis revealed several conclusions, the most important of which are: the author tended towards commendable Sufism, followed the Shafi’i school of thought, adhered to the Ash’ari creed, and his authorship of the book is confirmed.
The book “Nafa’is aljawaher alhessan” is considered one of the most important books of Tafsir (Quranic interpretation), as its author combined interpretation based on transmitted narrations (al-Ma’a’thur) and interpretation based on reasoned opinion (al-Ra’y al-Mahmoud).
In his study, the researcher provided a number of recommendations and suggestions, including: encouraging the researchers in charge of this project to quickly complete its verification as soon as possible so that students and researchers can benefit from it; paying attention to the author’s legacy and striving to bring it to light. The researcher also suggests conducting a comparative study of the verses of rulings (ayat al-ahkam) in the book “Nafa’is aljawahir alhessan albahiyya..” with other books of Tafsir.
The discussion was attended by a number of academics, researchers, interested students, the researcher’s colleagues, and members of his family and relatives.
