Sana’a University Rector Inspects Renovation Work Progress at Kuwait University Hospital

Sana’a – May 18, 2025
Today, Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, Sana’a University Rector and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kuwait University Hospital, conducted an on-site inspection visit to assess the progress of renovation and rehabilitation works across several medical departments of the hospital. He was joined by the hospital’s Director, Dr. Abdullatif Abu Talib, and the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Mohammed Al-Shahari.
The visit encompassed key departments including Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT), Men’s Surgery, and Obstetrics and Gynecology. The delegation evaluated the work completed so far and identified essential needs to support improved healthcare delivery and nursing performance. They also reviewed recent advancements in the departments of Emergency, Intensive Care, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine (Women), Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, as well as Radiology, Ultrasound, and CT Imaging. Particular attention was given to the pressing need to expand capacity in both emergency and intensive care units.
Prof. Al-Bukhaiti also toured 16 newly established clinical training rooms designed for medical students. These halls, fully equipped with modern resources, were funded by Sana’a University to enhance practical medical education.
During the visit, the University Rector and his team listened to feedback from medical professionals, hearing their insights on service quality and operational challenges. In response, he instructed that the newly installed oxygen generation plant—with a production capacity of around 30 cubic meters—be activated starting Monday to complement the existing facility and ensure a sufficient oxygen supply.
In a broader meeting with hospital administration, heads of departments, and medical staff, Prof. Al-Bukhaiti emphasized the importance of collaborative teamwork to elevate healthcare quality at the hospital. He commended the continued commitment of medical and administrative staff, especially in maintaining full operations under challenging circumstances.
He further instructed the compilation of a comprehensive list of outstanding renovation and equipment needs across the remaining departments and to organize them according to resource availability.
