Sana’a University Graduate Studies Council Holds 11th Meeting for the Academic Year 1446 AH

The Council for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at Sana’a University convened its 11th regular meeting for the academic year 1446 AH (2024/2025) on Monday, May 19, 2025. The session was chaired by Prof. Huda Ali Al-Emad, Assistant Vice Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, and attended by vice deans from various faculties and representatives from scientific and research centers.
The council addressed a range of academic and administrative topics. Key discussions included extending and terminating scholarship periods for some dispatched students, and a strong emphasis on not accepting memoranda that violate the approved procedural guide and tuition fees. The council also stressed the importance of faculties adhering to preparing admission application files according to specified admission requirements, alongside reviewing the self-assessment budget for postgraduate programs.
Discussions also covered a proposal from the Faculty of Computer Science regarding adding courses and credit hours to academic programs to align with labor market demands. Furthermore, the council debated the publication of internal research for Faculty of Dentistry students and approved the registration of PhD thesis titles for students at the Business Administration Center.
A significant outcome of the meeting was the approval of 11 PhD thesis titles and 15 master’s thesis titles. The council also approved the viva voce committees’ judgment results for 34 master’s theses and doctoral dissertations from various faculties and centers, along with the results for three Executive Master’s students at the Public Administration Center.
Moreover, the council approved the results for students in several programs, including PG diplomas, level improvement, and master’s preliminary programs. It also approved a number of internal scholarships for demonstrators and instructors to pursue master’s and doctoral degrees and discussed mechanisms to enhance academic cooperation among public universities.
The meeting began with a review and approval of the minutes from the previous session.
