Sana’a University President Visits Faculty of Commerce & Economics, Commending Maintenance Efforts and Emphasizing Team Spirit
Sana’a – June 4, 2025 (8 Dhul-Hijjah 1446 AH)
Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, Sana’a University President, paid an inspection visit this morning to the Faculty of Commerce and Economics to review ongoing maintenance and renovation works across its facilities. He was accompanied by Prof. Ibrahim Al-Mutaa, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Mr. Adel Al-Hababi, the President’s Assistant for Media Affairs.
During the visit, Prof. Al-Bukhaiti toured several key facilities, including lecture halls, training and testing laboratories, and the faculty library. He reviewed the progress made in the current maintenance works and praised the efforts aimed at improving the educational environment and strengthening the faculty’s infrastructure.
In a meeting with Dean Dr. Hani Al-Mughallis and members of the Faculty Council, the University President expressed his appreciation for the faculty’s longstanding contributions. He noted that many of its graduates now serve in leading positions across public institutions, and emphasized that institutional willpower is essential for achieving meaningful progress.
Prof. Al-Bukhaiti called for fostering a culture of mutual respect and appreciation between academic and administrative staff, highlighting the positive psychological impact of kind words in the workplace and their role in nurturing a collaborative team spirit—an essential foundation for effective educational leadership.
He also noted that Sana’a University has earned recognition in various international academic rankings in recent years. He attributed this achievement to the university’s continuous efforts to improve its undergraduate and postgraduate programs, as well as its commitment to enhancing all aspects of academic life within faculties and research centers.
Prof. Al-Bukhaiti commended both the former leadership of the faculty, represented by Dr. Mishaal Al-Reefi, and the current administration for their professional performance in managing one of the university’s largest faculties by student population.
The University President also addressed several of the university’s strategic priorities, particularly the successful implementation of a partial salary payment initiative. Under this initiative, the university contributes YER 65 million monthly to the Ministry of Finance. He affirmed that teaching-hour wages and transportation allowances for staff continue to be paid without affecting academic operations.
Dean Dr. Hani Al-Mughallis welcomed the University President and his delegation, expressing gratitude for the visit, which he described as a strong morale promoter for faculty leadership, staff, and administrators. He presented updates on completed maintenance and infrastructure improvements, as well as new equipment acquisitions, while highlighting remaining urgent needs necessary to maintain educational quality.
Prof. Al-Bukhaiti also listened to suggestions and observations raised by vice deans, department heads, and faculty members. He directed that these inputs be carefully reviewed and addressed in the coming months to further strengthen academic and administrative performance.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Ahmed Al-Shalabi, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science, and Mr. Osama Al-Bukhaiti, Director of the Office of the University President.
