Sana’a University Council of Graduate Studies Holds its 12th Meeting for Academic Year 2025/1446 AH

The Council for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at Sana’a University held its 12th regular meeting for the 2024/2025 academic year on Monday, June 16, 2025. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Huda Ali Al-Emad, the Assistant Vice-Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, with participation from associate deans of faculties and representatives from academic and research centers.
The council reviewed several academic and administrative issues, including the memoranda concerning the deadline for submitting admission files (for MA and Ph.D. programs) from faculties and centers to the Office of Graduate Studies following the admission application period. It also discussed the study plans of two new diploma programs: the GPA Improvement Diploma and the Diploma for Non-Specialists. Moreover, the council set the timeline for assigning academic supervisors to students following final approval of their results.
It was announced that starting the following Saturday, all graduate studies processes will be handled exclusively through the university’s “SAR” electronic system, with no paper submissions accepted thereafter.
During the meeting, the council also approved titles for 11 PhD dissertations and MA theses and ratified the evaluation and viva-voce results for 9 MA theses and one PhD dissertation across various faculties and centers.
The council also approved results for students in a number of programs, including PG diploma programs, GPA Improvement Diploma programs, and MA Coursework diplomas. It further approved a set of internal scholarships for teaching assistants and lecturers to pursue MA and PhD degrees and explored strategies to enhance academic cooperation among public universities.
The session began with the review and approval of the minutes from the council’s previous meeting.
