Ministers Al-Saadi and Shaiban Attend Meeting at Sana’a University’s Faculty of Medicine on International Medical Accreditation

The regular meeting of the heads of international academic accreditation standards committees was held today at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Sana’a University. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Education & Scientific Research, Mr. Hasan Al-Saadi; the Minister of Health, Prof. Ali Shaiban; and the Rector of Sana’a University, Prof. Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti.
During the meeting, the University Rector praised the continuous efforts of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences towards achieving international academic accreditation. He emphasized the importance of these meetings as an opportunity to enhance cooperation among all concerned parties to improve the quality of medical academic performance. Prof. Al-Bukhaiti affirmed the university leadership’s commitment to providing full and all available support to achieve this important goal.
The University Rector listened to a detailed explanation of the action plan and mechanisms for obtaining international academic accreditation, as well as a review of the steps and procedures accomplished so far. The meeting was attended by the Dean of the Center for Academic Development and Quality Assurance, Prof. Huda Al-Emad; the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Mohammed Al-Shahari; the faculty’s vice-deans; and the heads of the specialized academic standards committees.
He called on everyone to exert all possible efforts to complete the requirements for international accreditation, considering it a national and patriotic duty that contributes to elevating the quality of national medical academic performance.
Prof. Al-Bukhaiti also pointed to the importance of working with a one-team spirit and noted the necessity of earnest effort and responsible dedication to complete the requirements for international academic accreditation. He also affirmed the faculty’s commitment to providing all necessary resources to support this important endeavor. The Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Al-Shahari, stressed the importance of cooperation between the heads of the specialized academic standards committees and all concerned parties in the faculty, working as a team to ensure the desired objectives are met.
In his turn, the national expert, Prof. Saleh Bahaj, presented the action plan and mechanisms for developing academic standards to meet the required quality benchmarks. He emphasized the need to enhance the faculty’s educational program in line with the requirements of the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME), presenting a detailed report on what has been accomplished.
It is noteworthy that the meeting reflects the efforts made by the university leadership and the faculty’s deanship to achieve academic quality standards, and it confirms the university’s commitment to developing medical education in accordance with international academic standards.
The meeting was attended by the Vice Dean for Quality Affairs, Prof. Ahmed Mujahid; the Vice Dean for Hospital Affairs, Prof. Anwar Al-Mughallis; the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Prof. Arwa Othman; and a number of heads of the specialized academic standards committees, department heads, and faculty members.
