Sana’a University President Inspects Fruit Tree Planting Activities on Campus

As part of Sana’a University’s direction towards enhancing environmental sustainability and improving the quality of university life, the Rector of the University, Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, accompanied by members of the University Council, conducted an inspection visit today to several areas specified for the fruit tree planting activities within the university campus.
The University Rector affirmed that this step is part of a comprehensive plan to expand green spaces within the university. He noted that planting fruit trees represents an added value due to its environmental, health, and economic benefits for the university’s students, academics, and staff.
Prof. Al-Bukhaiti explained that the university seeks to create an attractive and healthy campus environment that aligns with the standards of modern universities. He stated that green spaces contribute to improving the general atmosphere of the campus and enhancing the psychological well-being of students, in addition to the future potential of utilizing the fruit to support the university’s developmental and service initiatives.
Prof. Al-Bukhaiti pointed out that the availability of green spaces is an important criterion used by international university rankings, such as the “UI GreenMetric” and “QS Stars” rankings, which assess the commitment of universities to environmental standards and sustainable development.
The Rector concluded his remarks by emphasizing the university leadership’s commitment to continuously adopting specialized initiatives that elevate the quality of the educational environment and enhance the university’s position in global rankings. He also called on all faculties and centers to contribute effectively to this sustainable direction.
