University President Visits Faculty of Sharia and Law, Affirms Its Role in Shaping Yemen’s Judicial and Legal Professionals

Prof. Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, Rector of Sana’a University, emphasized that the Faculty of Sharia and Law stands as one of Yemen’s foremost academic and research pillars, playing a central role in training and qualifying academic and professional cadres to serve the judiciary and uphold the rule of law.
His remarks came during an inspection visit to the faculty, where he was warmly received by Dean Prof. Mohammed Saad Nejad, the vice deans, the faculty general secretary, and a group of faculty members and administrative staff. The reception was marked by expressions of appreciation for his ongoing support. Prof. Al-Bukhaiti was briefed in detail on the progress of academic activities, current development initiatives, and the faculty’s key needs and future plans.
During his tour, the University Rector examined ongoing maintenance and rehabilitation works, as well as efforts to strengthen the faculty’s infrastructure and enhance the educational environment. He stressed that these initiatives form part of Sana’a University’s broader strategy to improve academic quality across all faculties and scientific and research centers.
Prof. Al-Bukhaiti highlighted that, with its highly qualified academic staff and extensive expertise in legal and Sharia education, the Faculty of Sharia and Law is among the leading institutions of higher education, producing graduates of exceptional competence capable of contributing to justice and legislative development in the country.
He further affirmed the university’s commitment to providing sustained support to the faculty, consistent with its approach to all faculties and scientific centers. This is through ensuring the necessary resources, updating curricula, and modernizing teaching methods to meet contemporary needs, thereby raising the competitiveness of graduates in both local and regional labor markets.
The University Rector concluded by stressing that advancing the Faculty of Sharia and Law, alongside other faculties and centers, is central to the university’s vision of creating a fully integrated educational environment capable of producing academically and professionally qualified generations who will serve society and contribute to building Yemen’s future on the principles of justice and sustainable development.
