University President Celebrates Top Students at the Faculty of Sharia and Law

Sana’a – August 23, 2025 (Safar 29, 1447 AH)
Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, Rector of Sana’a University, honored today the top-ranking students of the Faculty of Sharia and Law in a ceremony organized by the faculty on the occasion of the Prophet Mohammed’s Birthday and to welcome newly admitted students.
The ceremony began with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an, followed by the national anthem. In his address, the University Rector welcomed the new students and congratulated the honorees, underscoring the distinguished standing of the faculty, built upon its dedicated academic staff and extensive experience in Sharia and legal education. He further emphasized the faculty’s pivotal role in preparing competent legal professionals who contribute to strengthening justice and advancing national legislation.
For his part, the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Mohammed Saad Nejad, expressed his pride in the faculty’s legacy as one of the oldest faculties at the university. He extended congratulations to the top students for their achievements and highlighted the need to invest in academic excellence in serving society and elevating the standards of the legal profession.
Speaking on behalf of his peers, student Ibrahim Al-Faiq, representative of the University Student Forum (USF), expressed their collective pride in their accomplishments and reaffirmed their commitment to continuing academic excellence.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Mohammed Al-Bakri, Member of Parliament; Mr. Basam Abdu Saif, General Secretary of the Faculty; Mr. Ali Al-Alawi, Assistant General Secretary of the USF, in addition to a number of academics, staff members, and students.
It is worth noting that this recognition reflects the faculty’s ongoing efforts to foster a culture of excellence and achievement among its students, while honoring the noble values embodied in the commemoration of the Prophet’s Birthday—peace and blessings be upon him.
