Sana’a University President Inaugurates Endocrinology, Diabetic Foot, and Histopathology Centers at Al-Kuwait University Hospital

Sana’a – September 23, 2025 (Rabi’ ِAl-Thani 1, 1447 Hijri)
The Rector of Sana’a University, Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, today inaugurated the Endocrinology and Diabetic Foot Center and the Histopathology Center, in addition to the Administrative Operations and Control Room at Al-Kuwait University Hospital.
During the opening session, Prof. Al-Bukhaiti was briefed by the hospital’s Director General, Dr. Abdulatif Abu Talib, on the components and equipment of the two centers, including their pharmacy and laboratories. The briefing also covered the role of the Administrative Operations and Control Room in facilitating patients’ access to services and reducing their suffering.
In a statement on this occasion, the University Rector expressed his pleasure on this quality achievement, stressing that the reopening of the Histopathology Center after more than nine years is a significant step in developing the hospital’s medical services. “The availability of will, sincerity, and dedicated efforts allows for the accomplishment of many service projects that elevate the level of medical services provided to citizens and alleviate their suffering,” said the Rector. He further explained, “We have distinguished medical and scientific cadres and capabilities that only need support to fulfill their complete role in serving the community.” The Rector praised the efforts of the hospital’s leadership and staff and the constructive partnership with the private sector. He called on everyone to unify their efforts to improve service quality in a way that positively impacts every citizen, particularly under the current challenging circumstances in the country.
For his part, the hospital’s Director General, Dr Abu Talib, explained that the Endocrinology and Diabetic Foot Center is a newly established project, while the Histopathology Center has been reactivated after extensive rehabilitation and equipping with medical supplies and qualified staff. He confirmed that both centers are now ready to provide medical services at simple fees, noting the launch of a three-day free medical camp for patients with endocrine and diabetic foot conditions, including checkups and medication distribution.
He further added that the hospital has recently undergone a series of developments, including the provision of modern anesthesia equipment, the opening of a new emergency intensive care unit (ICU) with seven beds, renovation of the emergency department’s infrastructure, and the launch of new units for pediatric surgery and pediatric intensive care.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the hospital’s deputy directors, a number of doctors and specialists, as well as representatives of pharmaceutical companies and the private sector.
