Sana’a University Organizes Symposium on September 21 Revolution and Its Support for the Palestinian Cause

Sana’a – September 23, 2025 (Rabi’ Al-Thani 1, 1447 Hijri)
The Department of Political Science at the Faculty of Commerce and Economics, Sana’a University, organized a symposium today titled: “The September 21 Revolution and its Role in Supporting the Palestinian Cause,” with the participation of a selection of academics and researchers.
During the symposium, the book “The September 21 Revolution and Its Impact on Yemen and the Arab Region” was launched, authored by H.E. Marshal Mahdi Mohammed Al-Mashat, President of the Supreme Political Council.
The University Rector, Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, delivered a speech in which he pointed out that the revolution contributed to strengthening the independence of national decision-making. He affirmed that Sana’a University has witnessed a qualitative leap in various academic and research fields during this period.
He explained that the university has expanded its postgraduate programs to include 235 master’s and doctoral programs in line with academic standards, making it easier for students to pursue higher education within the country. He also highlighted the opening of new faculties, such as the Faculty of Petroleum and Natural Resources and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, in addition to specialized academic programs across various disciplines.
Prof. Al-Bukhaiti affirmed the university’s commitment to further developing its academic and research programs and strengthening its digital and media infrastructure to keep pace with scientific advancements and serve societal needs. He also stressed that the Palestinian cause represents an essential human and academic dimension present in the university’s research and cultural activities.
For his part, the Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Economics, Dr. Hani Al-Mughalles, explained that Yemenis throughout history have made civilizational contributions and played an active role in championing human values and nation-building. He noted that the September 21 Revolution restored the civilizational role of the Yemeni people and solidified their positive presence in the region.
The symposium, which was attended by the Deputy Minister of Information, Dr. Omar Al-Bukhaiti, and a number of faculty deans and directors of research centers at the university, included three research papers. These papers addressed the intellectual, political, and social aspects of the revolution and its role in strengthening national identity and supporting the just causes of people.
The papers were presented by Dr. Noha Al-Sadmi, Head of the Political Science Department at the Faculty of Commerce; Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Shuaibi; and the researcher Abdul Mohsen Tawoos.
