Master’s Degree Awarded to Ms. Budoor Al-Aizari in the Quran and its Sciences

Ms. Budoor Ali Saleh Al-Aizari was awarded a Master’s degree with an average of (Excellent) and a grade of (95%) for her thesis titled “A Study and Investigation of Surat Al-Isra’ Tafseer from Nafais Al-Jawaher Al-Hissan Al-Bahiyyah fi Bayan Asrar Ma’ani Al-Ayat Al-Qur’aniyyah by the Scholar/ Al-Hasan bin Ibrahim Al-Khateeb Al-Zabeedi Al-Yamani (d. 1265 Hijri),” which was submitted to Faculty of Education – Sana’a University. The defense was held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, corresponding to Rabi’ al-Akhir 9, 1447 Hijri.

The MA Viva-voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Post-Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:

The thesis aimed to:

Introduce the author (Al-Hasan bin Ibrahim Al-Khateeb Al-Zabeedi) and his era.
Clarify the author’s methodology and the main sources he relied upon in his commentary.
Critically edit and correctly publish the text of the book.

The thesis reached the following main conclusions:

Confirmation of the attribution of the book Nafais Al-Jawaher Al-Hissan Al-Bahiyyah… to its author, the scholar Al-Hasan bin Ibrahim Al-Khateeb Al-Zabeedi Al-Yamani (d. 1265 Hijri).
The author was a distinguished and highly respected scholar, having been educated by a number of Yemeni academics.
The book Nafais Al-Jawaher Al-Hissan is considered one of the most important works of Qur’anic exegesis (Tafseer).

The thesis put forth several important recommendations, including:

The manuscript should be fully edited and published as soon as possible for the benefit of students and researchers.
Attention should be paid to the author’s legacy, and further research should be conducted to find other works and biographical sources, as existing sources about him are scarce.
A comprehensive database of all Yemeni manuscripts should be created for Yemeni universities in general, and Sana’a University in particular.
Specialized theoretical and practical courses on manuscript critical edition should be established across Yemeni universities.

The thesis was examined and recommended by the Viva-Voce Committee for acceptance and approval. The defense was attended by a number of academics, researchers, students, and interested individuals, in addition to the candidate’s colleagues and family members.
