Mr. Hilal Hasan Ismael Ali Al-Jawhari was awarded a Master’s degree in the major of Physics for his thesis titled, “Nonlinear Propagation and Stability Analysis of Ion-Acoustic Waves in Relativistic Space Plasma,” which was submitted to the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science – Sana’a University. The defense was held on Saturday, October 18, 2025.
The MA Viva-voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Post-Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:
| # | Committee Members | Designation | Position |
| 1 | Assoc. Prof. Mohammed Ali Saif Ahmed | External examiner | Member |
| 2 | Prof. Mohammed Saleh Saleh Qusailah | Internal Examiner | Chair |
| 3 | Prof. Mahmoud Ahmed Hasan Khaled | Main supervisor | Member |
The study aimed to conduct a precise study of the fundamental characteristics and instability of relativistic solitary waves.
The study reached several findings, including:
- Only compressive Ion-Acoustic (IA) solitary waves are formed in the present plasma models with positive or negative heavy ions.
- The relativistic phase velocity of Ion-Acoustic Waves (IAWs) decreases with increasing values of the relativistic factor β0.
- The soliton amplitude increases with an increase in the relativistic factor β0.
- The growth rate of the instability decreases with increasing magnetic field strength.
The study concluded with the following main recommendations:
- Exploring ultra-relativistic and quantum systems.
- Laboratory verification: Conducting well-diagnosed, magnetized relativistic plasma experiments.
The study was examined and recommended by the MA Viva-Voce Committee for acceptance and approval. The defense was attended by a number of academics, researchers, students, and interested individuals, in addition to the candidate’s colleagues and family members.
