*Sana’a University President Honors Two Faculty Scholars Listed Among the “Top 100 Researchers” in the Global Scopus Ranking

The Rector of Sana’a University, Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, honored two faculty members from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences this morning in recognition of their outstanding research contributions and their inclusion among the university’s top 100 researchers for 2025, according to the international Scopus database ranking.
The honorees were Prof. Mahfoudh Bamashmos, Professor of Ophthalmology, and Prof. Rashad Ahmed Abdelghani, Professor of Parasitology.
This recognition reflects their significant role in producing high-impact scientific research and specialized studies that have strengthened the university’s academic presence and enhanced its competitiveness at both regional and international levels.
During the ceremony, Rector Al-Bukhaiti expressed his pride in the achievement, stating:
“The distinguished research contributions of both professors have not only enriched their academic portfolios but have also enhanced the reputation and scientific standing of Sana’a University, particularly in the medical field, which continues to witness rapid advancements and growing regional and global competition.”
He added that the university remains committed to implementing its strategy to support researchers and encourage high-quality scientific output, noting that such accomplishments underscore the university’s capacity to contribute to knowledge creation despite ongoing challenges.
The ceremony was attended by Prof. Mohammed Al-Shahari, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences; Vice Dean for Student Affairs Dr. Arwa Othman; Vice Dean for Graduate Studies Dr. Adel Al-Ghayli; and Dr. Hesham Al-Jabali, Director General of Scientific Research, along with a number of faculty members and researchers.
