Saturday, 6 December 2025 (15 Jumada Al-Akhirah 1447 AH)*
The sixth regular meeting of website and social media administrators from the faculties and centers of Sana’a University approved a set of new mechanisms and procedures designed to upgrade digital content and improve publishing quality across the university’s online platforms. The meeting also underscored the importance of continuing to update website interfaces and strengthening their overall readiness to meet the standards of international university rankings.
These conclusions followed a review of November’s performance reports and assessment of the outcomes of the university’s first training course for website administrators, which helped enhance participants’ skills in media editing, digital management, and user-experience optimization.
The session was chaired by Mr. Adel Al-Hababi, the Rector’s Assistant for Media Affairs, who emphasized the need to turn these recommendations into practical, measurable actions in the coming period. He highlighted the need to exert maximum effort to deliver comprehensive and professional media coverage that showcases the distinctive strengths of Sana’a University, whether in academic and infrastructural capabilities, scientific activities, or research presence.
Al-Hababi noted that the meeting comes just ahead of the upcoming February release of the “Webometrics” global ranking, in which university websites play a pivotal role. The ranking evaluates content quality, published activities and events, and how effectively universities present their academic, material, and research capacities, in addition to assessing the global visibility of their scientific publications.
He further explained that Sana’a University possesses the material, scientific, human, and research capacities needed to maintain a strong position in this ranking, especially after advancing by nearly 1,500 global spots in recent months. He affirmed that continued improvements to the quality of the university’s websites will strengthen its ability to highlight its achievements and reinforce its leadership among Yemeni universities.
During the meeting, participants discussed major technical and administrative challenges faced by website teams and proposed practical solutions to address them. They also explored mechanisms to expand coordination among website administrators across various faculties and centers to improve performance and ensure a unified media message for the university.
This meeting is part of a series of monthly sessions aimed at advancing digital transformation at Sana’a University, enhancing institutional media performance, and keeping pace with rapid developments in digital communication to strengthen the university’s academic visibility both locally and globally.
